Out + about: Bali bombings memorial day

12 October 2010

Family and friends of the victims of the 2002 Bali bombings attended a ceremony this morning at the Bali Memorial to mark the 8th anniversary of this tragedy.

The ceremony, on the northern headland of Coogee Beach, included the unveiling of ‘The Place of Reflection’, a plaque on a sandstone wall, which names the 43 NSW victims. The Bali Memorial sculpture, also located on the headland, is a memorial to the 88 Australians who lost their lives – a place where family, friends and visitors can gather to remember.
