Out + about: An afternoon at UNSW

20 April 2010

An afternoon at UNSW
UNSW is one of the great institutions in Kingsford Smith and recently I was pleased to spend an afternoon hearing about the work being done.

Professor Veena Sahajwalla and her team from the School of Materials Science and Engineering
talked about their process of using waste materials in steel production.

I also visited NewSouth Innovations – to hear about some breakthrough technology for manufacturing optical devices. This research project received federal government funding to help the team commercialise the technology. »media release
